Every second counts!

Every week in Spain, approximately 300 people experience cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Without prompt and adequate assistance, only 2-5% of victims survive. The presence of an automated external defibrillator can make the difference between life and death. Every minute is crucial!

An AED saves lives!

The only way to restore a heart to its normal rhythm is by delivering an electric shock using an automated external defibrillator. For the best chance of survival (without consequential damage), the shock must be delivered within 6 minutes after the cardiac arrest. Every minute thereafter, the victim's chance of survival decreases by approximately 10%. If a bystander or witness within the first 6 minutes of a cardiac arrest immediately:

• Alerts emergency services via 112
• Starts CPR
• Uses an Automated External Defibrillator

the chance of survival can increase from 2-5% to as much as 90%. In short, having your own automated external defibrillator in your organization, at the club, or at home increases the victim's chance of survival.
